Project Overview
Upgrade works were carried out to expand the ammonia refrigeration plant for Finlays Cold Storage facility in Colombo Sri Lanka as part of the Stage III extension.
Key requirements of the Stage III works included;
- The addition of four rooms and a general annex area equivalent to 60% of the existing facility. These rooms were required to operate and maintain conditions to suit a variety of products and produce in combination from +23°C to 0°C.
- The additional room loads were to be incorporated into the existing central refrigeration plant (which was expanded to suit)
- Improve energy efficiency across the total refrigeration plant.
- Ensure the ongoing flexibility of the facility is preserved.
