Collaborating with the team at Coles in VIC, Oomiak was excited to tackle the scope at their Dandenong facility.
Working in tandem with the Coles Ocado Customer Fulfillment Centres (CFCs), this Distribution Centre (DC) has a part to play in the bigger Coles picture.
The refrigerated CFCs is a specialised coldstore designed to handle and fulfill online orders for perishable products such as fresh produce, dairy products, meat, and frozen foods. Using hive technology, over a thousand robots help streamline the order fulfillment process.
The next link in this chain is this Dandenong DC, and acting as the final pitstop before customers receive their order this site and the Truganina CFC work hand in hand – improving the home-delivery solutions that Coles provides.
Understanding the requirements of the Coles team, Oomiak was able to craft a solution that met their cold storage needs.
Finishing ahead of the project’s timeline, Oomiak was able to go beyond the initial scope provided and create a tailored solution that ticks all the boxes.
Working within a brand-new facility, some specifics of the scope we provided were:
- Design and install an air-cooled refrigeration system
- Utilise specific refrigerant that would serve this application best
- Establish and maintain cooling to two temperature-controlled rooms
