This month’s edition of the Oomiak Crew Spotlight series takes us to our NSW Customer Service team!
Our team is filled to the brim with enthusiastic, experienced, and skilled people – we’re excited to share their stories.
My Role in Oomiak
Working on a diverse range of applications, Nick Adamcewicz’s role as a Refrigeration Technician at Oomiak is the embodiment of one of our core values, evolution.
“Working within the Customer Service team here in NSW, I’ve worked on a variety of sites from Coles, Aldi, Arnott’s and more,” says Nick.
Armed with a keen attitude and willingness to go above and beyond, Nick’s been able to seize different growth opportunities here at Oomiak.
“I was lucky enough to work on the recent installation project for Coles Ocado here in Sydney. I was able to get some great experience from seeing the Customer Fulfilment Centre being built” says Nick.
Further to this, there’s a big emphasis on training for Nick and continually keeping his skills sharp.
“For myself training is a must. Either from running over old TAFE notes to researching new equipment or designs of systems. I have also been looking into completing my diploma in the [industrial refrigeration] trade to further my skills and knowledge,” says Nick.
Continuing to leverage this mindset, Nick’s role developed too, gaining responsibility aiding our offices across Australia.
“With the guidance of our Operations & Finance team I have been assisting in cataloguing and stocktaking the key consumable items and parts across all departments. This will help streamline the efficiency of all the techs and trades and to assist the office in creating faster processes for invoicing and reordering of parts,” says Nick.
Best Thing About Working at Oomiak
“Oomiak has been fantastic for my career path. I have been able to grow and further my skills here. But also getting a real feel for working as a team and being able to brainstorm and discuss certain items that I haven’t been able to do at other workplaces. With Oomiak you get a real sense of being, not just work colleagues but a great work family,” says Nick.
My Career Tips
“Being able to adapt and manoeuvre your way around any issue is a key skill for any tradesperson to learn and implement. Many tradies know that there are always different ways to complete a job and adaptability helps you find the right one for the scenario at hand,” says Nick.
Similarly, a key component to what makes Nick succeed is his relationship and communication with our local NSW client base.
“Relationship and communication are a large side of a technician’s role. Being able to speak with a customer and get an understanding of what they want is key.
But it’s also about helping guide them in issues they may be facing and finding resolutions that work seamlessly. You have to either be fixing an issue or helping develop more efficient ways to operate their plant. This helps create a great relationship with a customer,” says Nick.
Nick is a vital part to our team, both in NSW an across the country – great stuff Nick and keep these wins coming!
