Project Overview
Linfox first began back in 1956 utilising just one truck. Today, the company leads the way as Asia Pacific’s largest privately-owned logistics company – involving more than 24,000 people across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.
Working at their facility in Willawong, QLD Linfox engaged Oomiak to design, supply, install and maintain an ammonia-based, two-stage, direct expansion refrigeration plant. Upon a detailed review of the Linfox’s specific requirements, relevant building drawings, and our own review of the heat loads – the Oomiak team facilitated:
- Low charge ammonia-based system
- Reliable and energy-efficient design
- Long life and low servicing costs
- Level of redundancy in certain critical plant
- Code compliant
- FM global compliant
Understanding the size and capacity of the plant we were able to opt for different specifications to heighten the overall operation of the system. An example of this was creating a two-stage configuration within the compressors that better met the imposed heat load offering greater efficiency over the operating range of the plant.
