Project Overview
Through Fairbrother Oomiak was engaged to design and install the refrigeration services for SIW’s expanded refrigerated facility near Launceston in Tasmania.
SIW’s facility receives, stores and dispatches Woolworths’ products across Tasmania.
The 13,0000m² facility includes 4,600m² of freezer at -24 degrees and 7,700 m² of chiller and staging area.
Oomiak’s work included the design and installation of the refrigeration systems to serve these areas.
The plant is a two stage, critical charge ammonia refrigeration system utilising screw compressors.
The two -stage system is designed to deliver required operating efficiency across the full range of system operating conditions.
